Manual (Keyboard) Data-Entry

The image below shows one of the screens into which you enter and/or edit the data that is generated during the Competition. The screen shown was designed for efficient use, and to allow easy basic verification that data has been entered and that it is not grossly wrong. There are additional data entry screens which are used less frequently, which allow access to other data elements so that you have complete flexibility.

As a recent improvement in the overall performance of BIAB, it now features the ability to have data input that comes exclusively from the keyboard of the computer, rather than having to use a combination of keyboard and mouse clicks for each piece of information. ln order to take advantage of this capablility, you enter the data with a supplementary data input window, while the main data input area is updated as soon as data is entered.

In the screen shot above, the operator has just typed the Bib Number '6', which then provides access to the entry of shooting and finish data for Bib #6. The data are sequentially accessible in the normal creation order, but you can use the Tab, Return or Enter keys to move rapidly from field to field, regardless of whether they contain data. In the Screen shot below, you see the next step in the sequence started in the screen shot above, in which the first shooting result, 4 misses, has been entered. You will note that the data area on the main screen, to the left of the special Rapid Keyboard Data Entry Window, was updated automatically, immediately after the entry was made.
